We look forward to seeing you at one of our events.
TREE AND BUG WALKS, SATURDAY 29 SEPTEMBER AT 2PM
Find out more about the huge range of trees - both native and international - at our first-ever Tree Walk in Canons Park. Led by Ezra Davies, the walk is suitable for adults and will last for around 90 minutes. Also starting at 2pm is our first-ever Bug Walk, led by Simon Braidman. This walk is suitable for all ages, especially families. Both walks are FREE (although donations are always welcome!) and will begin from the park gates at the top of Canons Drive. See you there!!
Canons Park Gardening Club
Our lovely George V Memorial Garden is in need of some TLC!! Now that we have no park keeper, the council is only going to be cutting the grass during the year and tidying up the garden as and when it can. We desperately need keen gardeners - with or without experience - to help us return this little oasis of calm at the centre of the park to its former glory. GARDENING CLUB SESSIONS are generally held on Sundays from 10am to 12pm but you can stay as little or as long as you like! Why not join us? All tools and equipment, including gardening gloves, will be provided or you can bring your own if working alone. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact our gardening volunteer co-ordinator, Conchi Vera at: email@example.com for more information and session dates.
Bird Watching Walks in Canons Park: The last walk of the season was on Sunday 3 June and they are now on their summer break whilst the trees are in leaf. Walks will resume on Sunday 7 October, from 10am to 12pm. Meet at the Donnefield Avenue gates to Canons Park. All welcome! Bring binoculars if you have them and we suggest you wear comfortable shoes.
YOGA AND HEALTH WALKS IN CANONS PARK: All three activities below are FREE but donations are very welcome. All proceeds to the Friends of Canons Park to help buy plants and bulbs for the George V Memorial Garden
HEALTH WALKS Join the group for health walks and stretching exercises four times a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8am – 9am. Meet at the Howberry Road entrance gates.
