KIDS' FUN FAIR DAY IN CANONS PARK - RETURNS FOR ITS 17TH YEAR, SUNDAY 1 AUGUST 2021, 11am to 6pm There'll be something for all the family at our annual fun day in the park - from kids' fun fair rides and stalls, a free art activity desk, storytelling and other fun activities, to the 'fun' dog contest (2.15 - 3.15pm) and the wonderful sounds of not one but two brass bands. For those who want to learn a new activity there are free taster sessions of Nordic Walking, as well as yoga and tai chi sessions. Try your luck at the Friends of Canons Park stall where you'll find the Lego challenge and when the gang get hungry hurry along to the Good Friends Cafe where you can find all day snacks, hot and cold drinks, and delicious home made ice creams and lollies, many with vegan options! If they fancy a shake or some yummy sweets they can also visit Dotty's big red Sweets Bus which will be parked up at the event all day. Gardeners will love the Shaw Trust plant sale (just behind the Good Friends Cafe) and of course the adventure playground will help the kids burn off any extra energy all day long! Visitors interested in local history should also take the opportunity to visit nearby St Lawrence Church to see the splendid interiors and take one of their tours (2 – 4pm) where they can find out more about its fascinating links to Canons Park.
